I thoroughly enjoyed my K4 (still have it). It definitely has a lo-fi quality - the samples easily aliase when pushed out of their comfort range (ie, very high), but the strings were pretty good and nice to play. Also, the onboard effects made it fun to play with too. (I was always a sucker for the infinite delay!)
It was enjoyable to play, which is all I ask for really; would it be as fun to play as an emulation on a computer..not sure. If I didn't have the K4, would I bother getting an emulation..only if pretty cheap to be honest!
